If it has long range tanks it has a second tank at the back of the boot behind the rear seat which drains into the main tank underneath.

standard tank is 60l, I believe that the dual tank system is 80l. That info is in Haynes and owners manual.

My recollection of my 740 turbo was that the tanks held about 90 litres. Not as common as single tank but have come across a few long range tanks - would imagine they are more common in Australia.

Thanks Mike,
tried to fill it today and only managed to get about 35L into it... (guage was showing top of the red previous to this) But then the fuel guage went weird ! Went to about 1/2 then 0, then kept on swinging about ! Do they run a float sender ?? or an electronic type ? Also looked in the owners book, and its got no reference to fuel capacity. And i dont have a Haynes book. Cam |

Gauges are well know for not ready correctly. Best bet is carry a can of petrol with you then let it run out. That way you will be able to find out how much it holds.

Thanks Dai,
I've been thinking about doing that... I refilled it again today, getting good economy for my mind (about 10.5L/100km). put in 32L for about 290km. and the tank behind the seat is full ! so i should have a fair amount of fuel onboard ! Cam |

No probs
Let us know how you get on. The let down with the long range tank is it takes up the space for a LPG tank! |
