motor arm popped off hot/cold flap behind dash? or needs recalibrating.. 2 possible options amongst various others no doubt

assuming both pipes to and from heater matrix are hot

In all honesty it's not a job I've done before I'm assuming access would be from the side in the passenger footwell ? possibly the actuator motor itself needs replacing and is stuck on cold or the linkage has come off if that's possible ?

this is all just guessing obviously

Id probably start by looking at replacement parts on ebay just to look at pictures and try and work out where the connectors and actuators are that way?

if I get a chance later I'll have a look on VIDA and see if a diagram or instructions can help out

do you have access to VIDA because there's a really easy calibration routine you can run which might sort it out without any disassembly

also others might come along with other ideas?

is your heater control the older type with two dials hot and cold left and right, or the newer type where you set a temperature and it adjusts for you automatically because if so it could be thermistor related maybe

lots of possibilities

Possibly the newer type its got aircon and dual climate control set the temp on each side then the blower is the one wiere the small oblong lights light up
If that makes sence
No access to vida

ah yeah then it could be the temperature sensor then ? again I'm not an expert or anything I just thought I'd give some ideas of things to be aware of and look into

There are a number of items that will cause heat not to come through to the cabin. Heater core may be blocked and easily checked by feeling the input/output hoses at bulkhead. Faulty CCM module, faulty thermistor in CCM, faulty external temperature sensor in door mirror, faulty synchronisation of blend motors. Before spending on parts best have the car plugged into Vida and check for error codes, synchronise blend motors and take it from there…

Default Hi

These pics may help .
Useful pic of the heater blower fixings , should you ever need to take it out.
Heater Flap motors ( 1 on left , 3 on right ) . Can`t remember off the top of my head which is the blender but if you put your ear close up to the centre dash , switch on the ign. and turn the temp control knobs down to full cold and then to full hot you should hear the motor run. That will tell if the motor works at least but, as Stuart said the arms may have become detached.

Default Verdict

So took the car to my local mechanic today (used him 15 years) his verdict was the heater matrix is blocked

There’s no water in the oil so head gasket is OK
Radiator is warm top and bottom so thermostat is OK
HAD NEW WATER PUMP 8,000 miles ago so that’s OK
Temp gauge is at 12 O’Clock so not overheating that’s OK
The CCM unit is all working and can hear the flaps working OK
The pipes at the bulkhead one is hot one is cool which suggests matrix blocked

That’s what I’m told

Glad you found it, this is what I was saying at the bottom of post 2 before getting all carried away with overly complicated alternate theories lol
