Default Fitting door seals

My 1966 122s fabric and rubber door seals that fit on the door frame - NOT the door - are in tatters. I have new ones but am struggling to see how to fit them.
The seal I am talking about is the one that starts at the bottom of the front door opening, goes up to the roof lining then right along the roof lining and then down the back door opening. Has anyone fitted these and how did you do it.

Apparently there is a drawing available for this and was submitted by "Bladerider". However when I try to open it - it won! Are you still around Bladerider?

It's about 3 years ago that I fitted ours, and my memory's not what it used to be, but, as far as I remember, the B pillar panel and A pillar and footwell board secure the front and back, and to fit above the door you squeeze the plastic parts together and push them up between the headlining and the body, and when they spring apart, that's what holds it in place. Regards, Andy.

I think I watched Rob Whitton fitting this seal to a car at Sywell. He was using a wide screwdriver and a great deal of patience. Took a while but the job was completed successfully. Perhaps he would care to comment?

Beware the corners, don't stretch the seal around them or they will pull out sooner rather than later.

Default Windlace seal procedure fitting

Hi ya ,

Parts required :

New windlace door seals x2

Tools required :

A worn in flat headed screwdriver to save scratching paint when close.
A Philips screwdriver ( to remove windscreen trimm sides )
A plastic trimm tool ! Important to tuck trimm up in place
Stapler and staples ( 6-10mm )
Side cutter or knife to mitre with and cut seal to length

Time required : about an hour each side

1.a- Now firstly remove the rear seats if a two door car , then remove the rear side cards and seatbelts also the metal trimm half way up B piliers .

1.b-remove sides to windscreen surround .

2 - start at the back bottom of a side give a extra bit say 2” tucked down the back of the top sill covers ( alloy ) then work stapling to the hidden like notice board material you will see old staples or if removing old seals see clearly where I mean .

3- work up to top corner mitre with a cut using side cutters or knife then return round top a wee bit then sit rest aside for now then ! Re fit metal trimm and hold seal in place , refit seatbelt that side which will all hold seal in place nicely .

4- continue tucking up edge of headlong where you left off ..... all the way to other corner then work down windscreen , refit windscreen trimm holding seal in place nip snug .

5- work down A Pilar , tuck behind kick panel metal retainer to bottom corner do the same as you started have small extra bit tuck down other door too sill alloy .

6- tuck and settle seal anywhere requires .

Done .

Repeat other side in reverse .

FINISHED
