The Grand Torque Event - Elvington Sept 17th 2023

TorqueVolvo is pleased and very excited to announce its return to
Elvington airfield on Sunday 17th September 2023 for “The Grand Torque”




“The Grand Torque 2023” is four great meeting events rolled into one.

• The Grand Shoot Out is a Volvo only timed sprint down the Elvington
  strip….bragging rights and formal print out certificates will decide who has for once and for all the Speediest Swede.
  
  
• The Grand Tribute will see a very famous ABBA tribute band performing some of ABBA’s best hits live on stage.
  
  
• The Ace of Clubs Challenge … The united and various Volvo Clubs will compete against each other to lift the “Broughton 850” shield as we crown the Ace of Clubs in 2023.
  
  
• The Grand Parade.. In a nod to the successful GWR record, follow the Torquevolvo admin team out onto the runway to perform two laps of the Elvington airfield…
  this time there is no queuing, we go side by side and you don’t have to worry about the gap.

The day will start at 10:00 and finish at 16:00 with trade, food and part swap stands. Let’s also not forget the large open space filled with plenty of Swedish metal on display.

This event will focus on raising money for Dementia UK and in purchasing a ticket £5 from every pass goes straight to the charity. Our aim is to raise in excess of £10K for this most worthy charity.

Grand Torque Fundraising for Dementia UK

Your pass will contain a number that will automatically enter you into a prize draw which will take place every two weeks from mid-November all the way up to the event itself, and boy! … have we pushed the prize boat with some exceptional prizes to be awarded this year.

We want at least 800 Volvo cars on site to recreate the feeling of the 2021 GWR attempt, and we hope that with no covid restriction in 2023 we can fill the field.

So, get planning and get ready to attend the most awesome Volvo only event in 2023.

Thank you....we've had a tremendous response so far in the first 12 hours of launching the event with 60% of ShootOut Passes already allocated. Very excited and can't wait until we hit Elvington ext year.

Will be ordering my pass soon,although not for the shoot out as my old girl with an alleged 140bhp when new is[like its owner]not exactly sprightly.

It's not the winning or the trophy or the bikini girls awarding it it's the taking part that counts, now go on and give the old girl a clearing of the throat even if it is at a canter.

I'll be on Marshalling duties throughout the day....although I'd be fibbing if I said the DeRv hasn't been down Elvington 'briskly' before lol

Plenty of great meets between now and Elvington, looking forward to getting to most of them.
