Default Apple iPhone iTouch so annoying

Like many on here my iPhone was working perfectly with the USB connection until the latest software update at the end of last year. It seems Apple have decided to make the iPhone and iTouch no longer work with the volvo system. I have complained to Apple and was given a 'support ticket' and since have heard nothing. Has anyone else complained and had any joy?
If enough of us complain then maybe they might get their act together.

I called yesterday with the same complaint for an iPhone.
They said it was hoped to be fixed in the next update which was expected 'soon'.

Looks like 4.3 iOS is with the Developers now, but might not work with iPhone 3g or 2nd generation iPod Touch.

You may want to try placing the description below in Amazon. £4.99 buys you a short Aux connector which allows you to use Aux mode and listen to your iPod/iPhone music; admittedly the phone does not charge via Aux. I got fed up waiting for 4.3 from the geeks.

Fisual 3.5mm Stereo Jack Cable - 30cm Install Series Special (Ideal for car aux In / iPod / iPhone / MP3)

Mine was still under warranty (just) and they replaced it with a new one running the previous firmwear foc.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have got a 3.5 mm jack and as you say at least that allows you to play something. It's just so irritating that something that functioned so well and allowed you to charge AND have control of track selection via the steering wheel controls can be arbitrarily removed causing us all this hassle.

I have just read on the Apple forums that 4.3 beta is now available on iTunes and the link problem is fixed. A few people have already successfully updated their phones and got them working with their cars.

Only available to developers as yet. No release date specified, but it appears that the fix works. It's just a case of waiting for them to get it to the public. My phone is connected to iTunes and the box tells me it's up to date on 4.2.1
