Whilst the OP didn't claim 500bhp, Poeta's post shows the D5 block and crank is capable of way over that.

The new GR Yaris 3 banger has already been pushed to 500whp, stock unopened block.

Anything is possible, if you've got the cash.

I think I will build such D5 engine next year it would a lot cheaper than sleeving my st one and I don't have a ton of money to spend and I really like an idea of something I can build myself cheaper to make more power 😁

Total waste of time trying to get a D5 to that power in my opinion.

Any modern petrol car of similar power will walk all over it with their 8 speed autos, AWD and launch control.

Any Telsa comes along and you've had it.

If it's just for novelty factor and that makes you happy then fair enough, but the days where a 500bhp diesel was impressive are long gone.
Hi
What do you think a sensible level of tuning uplift is sensible for general street use ? Do you do them or know of good Volvo tuners in the Staffordshire area?

The box is only rated to 450NM, so Polestar would be a sensible point to stop.

And very nice Polestar is too.
