Getting there.. For some inexplicable reason, engines from 5 tonne recovery trucks do not bolt straight in to Volvos! Engine itself will be relatively easy but I'm having to re-engineer how the clutch is actuated in order for it to fit in the tunnel (it's cable, and a 'pull' clutch) using a slave cylinder mounted behind the cut down arm to make it hydraulic. I've given myself about 3 months to get it to MOT standard, which should be achievable. I've got a project thread for the car on here somewhere so I will dig it out and keep it updated once there's some actual progress. The main limitation will be finances..

Which reminds me..

Buy my stuff please

No, the gearbox is awful and only good for weighing in so I have had no qualms about cutting bits off of it to adapt for the Iveco conversion

Have you got a picture of the flywheel on the back? I'm after one for a B230ET, but maybe Volvo used the same kind for the B230E.

Let me know if you need the flywheel, it'll be 'not much' plus postage

For those interested, I've updated my build thread. It's obviously never going to please purists, but I like it

Hi

Looks like the blue paint on the engine is the same as the blue on the front of the car. Is the engine still available as i have been thinking of fitting a 2.3 in one of mine.
Has the car been converted to round headlamps as the mounts look like the round type which i reccon gave a better light than the original rectangular type.

It's a different shade of blue. The front panel came from another car that I swapped parts for from a banger racer (a very tired '79 244 if I remember correctly). It's something of a 'bitsa' car, as it started life as an 88 GL with a B200e, then got the B230e with a sports exhaust and some nice suspension (for better towing!), then a terrible black paintjob, then an early front end, brown paint and now an Iveco engine (slow progress due to 'life' unfortunately).

Still sat in the garage, minus clutch and flywheel. Make me an offer on any/all of it. It's in my way
