  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Question glow plugs

Can any one help I'm changing my glow plugs in my s40 1.9 diesel 03 reg I got ngk they don't fit so returned them they were the ones listed for the car so I went to eurocarparts and got bosh ones and they don't fit they look slightly bigger than the ones I have in the ngk ones where big two just slightly can any one tell me the right ones to get please

Get a ruler and measure the width and length of the threaded part or just remove one when you get to the shop and compare.

Firstly, have you checked the resistance of each plug, because it might be the relay ? It should be about 1 ohm, but if the plug is kaput it will be several thousand.

You could ask Rufe the FRF Swansea Volvo dealer for a quote, although genuine Volvo ones are not cheap. There is a forum discount code (C3 I think).

Skandix do sell an aftermarket one for about 14 quid each AND if you send them a message they will quote for other makes like Bosch.
