Smile V70 Mk3 D5 Auto, Immobiliser Error No Shift Beyond 1st Gear

Hi,

V70 2008 D5 2.4 Auto - Wont shift beyond 1st Auto or Manually:

Had our dog in car whilst at shop so left unlocked.

Got back in, started ok and it stalled within 2 seconds.
I noticed an 'immobiliser' message on the instrument reader (not 100% sure exactly what it said).

I restarted believing perhaps the immobiliser had cut in and again it started ok and then stopped within 2 seconds.

I paused, locked the car with remote & unlocked again with this time it started fine and stayed running.

Upon reversing ok i pulled away noting that it wouldn't change out of 1st gear.

I additionally tried manual gear selection but that wouldn't change up either.

I crawled home at 15mph in 1st gear ok.
Actions since:

I done a manual maintenance reset since the message has been present awaiting a service. Upon restarting & driving same issue, stuck in 1st gear.

I plugged in a U480 code reader however this hasn't displayed any faults.

It feels to me like a limp type mode is stuck in however rather than capping revs, it's preventing shifting anything beyond 1st gear & reverse, or perhaps an electrical sensor or something?

Still shifts fine & smooth to Drive or Reverse and always had smooth gear changes -

Any assistance appreciated as just concerned spending a fortune with a garage for what could be a smaller less expensive component fix.

Thanks
