Default Car stalling at junctions

Hello - I have a major problem with my 'T' reg V70. Picking up from idle, it stalls and cuts out - usually half was across a junction which is very dangerous. Nobody seems to be able to get to the bottom of the trouble. Any ideas, please? The garage chap says it's because the 4-pin brake lamp switch is faulty (just ordered a new one from Jammie). I don't believe that! A while ago, I soldered up a set of copper leads - should I get a new set of originals - but I have checked for arcing and don't think they are. Could that be the cause in some way? I have just spent over £1,200 to get it through its MOT and the thing is bankrupting me - - !! Any ideas would be gratefully received to my e-mail, please:

Best wishes,
Kenneth (aka Buryan).

What " copper leads"? Plug leads? Correct Bougicords are best.
How does it run once you are up and driving?
Random answer - Fuel pump relay.

T-reg = 1999, could be the throttle module?
