Default Basic Garmin set up in an XC60

I don’t use the sat nav much because I know most roads locally and simply don’t need it.

We have a Garmin 205 occasionally set up in our other car for finding appointments on occasions.

Knowing that we are taking the XC60 away for a weekend to an unknown area I thought how can I rig the Garmin up temporarily to look neat?

Answers remove the little tray on the sat nav normal XC60 position (it just pulls up easy). Use the standard Garmin windscreen sticking suction device to stick the sat nav clamp onto the flat plastic under the tray.

Clip in the sat nav , plug into the power socket and it is sits perfectly situated for use .Admittedly there is a bit of wire dangling to the power supply but for temporary use on the odd occasion we may need it ,it appears to be a fairly good set up. Better I think than having it in the window with wires running over the dash top.

Might be worth noting if you ever need a temporary sat nav setting up.

Cool, plan to do the same as have a 265WT ready to plug in.
On the down side, have already spent the money saved on an iPad!

I use a 205w and have fixed the adhesive disc to the back of the blank area. I then attach the suction clip to the disc horizontally. Works perfectly! The wire into the cigarette lighter is a bit of a nuisance and I would prefer to route it through the back of the blank area. Only use the Garmin occasionally so it is not too bad.
