Default Extra 37 HP & 76 Nm Torque for £89???

Found this on ebay.

Seems hard believe you could achieve extra 37HP and 76NM of torque for £89.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Digital-ASA-CR...item5d2aeda0b7

Do you think it would work?

Looks interesting. I guess it would invalidate the warranty tho?

No idea about warranty although if plug n play could be easily removed I suppose. Sure someone will know either way. Makes you wonder if that's all it takes to “improve performance and economy“ why volvo just don't do it?

Don't do it! These cheap units just chuck more diesel into the cycle to get more power. Sooner or later they screw up your fuelling sensors leading to a repair bill and of course they do invalidate warranty if discovered.

Most engines can give more power by remapping but - at the risk of over stressing the engine and components, I know from painful experience.

Also of course if you do go this route your insurers should be advised as they will invalidate your cover if not declared.

Much better is remapping your existing fuelling system and ECU, which funny enough is a service Volvo do offer. yes it's more expensive but it is covered under warranty!

Also there is a tendency to over fuel at peak load,at this point you engine will hiccup, may well cut out and go into limp home mode. While you can disconnect and play the innocent with your dealer, they are going to wonder why your car is over fuelling.....

I think you will find that it is not available for the XC60 205 D5 - in fact the XC60 is not on the list of engines supported

Must be reading a different link because the 420 Nm 205 D5 unit is mentioned.

Don't do it... go for a proper remap from a reputable company (MTE, Rica, BSR)
