Default upgraded DIM

Finally upgraded the DIM to the MY 2005 (with LED backlight) version. Just got fed up with pulling the old DIM out and bringing it to the local mobile phone service. It didn't work properly once in a while.
Sourced a second hand facelift one and got it programmed to my car. Everything works perfectly. The guy changed the language from German to English. So it is perfect

That sounds very good, I did not know we could use a newer one, so you also have the metal rings around the clocks, Did he charge much to program it,
so your car is now all complete ?
I mite try and do the hand brake cables this week,
Thanks Dave,

Having not seen the retaining disc in any other strut after that I concluded the inserts were a legacy technology from the earliest days of McPhearson struts only.

Off I go to the Koni website.
This is a website that shows the fitting of the koni shock inserts, its not Volvo but is the same,

Default front chassis brace

Today I have been painting with black hammerite my ultraracing front chassis brace that I got over a year ago, so I mite try and fit it tomorrow , if I feel ok,
it fits on to the subframe by the track control arm rear bolt to the jacking point/front subframe rear bush bracket bolt (not the subframe bolt but one of the small bolts, I will report back to how the car feels ones fitted,

Thanks Dave,
First, after sourcing a facelift DIM with socket, I needed the make an adapter (because new DIM's socket is different from the old DIM's). Then I contacted the programmer.
The guy is a specialist. I posted about him programming OEM cruise control on my car (which came without cruise control). According to the Volvo stealer a used DIM cannot be programmed to another car. That is bull****, the stealer only wants to sell you a very expensive part.
He charged me just a little for doing the programming (PM me for figures if you are interested). He also programmed headlight wipers to my car (I intend to fit AM HIDs and I need headlight wipers).
Everything was done remotely with me sitting in the car with my old MacBook and dice connected to the car. The dice was shared with a special software written by the specialist. He might have been sitting somewhere thousand of miles away... I don't know
My car is ready for MOT. I will have it on Monday morning. Had a four wheel alignment done yesterday. I hope it will pass it without advisories. Fingers crossed...
Good luck fitting the handbrake cables. Just watch the youtube video I posted. If you can afford go for Ate cables.

ok thanks, I do have the headlight wipers,
I got the hand brake cables over a year ago, but because I got it to pass the mot by fitting the adjusters in the back, there is no more adjustment left in the handbrake cables/lever , I kept putting the job off, they are ate cables I have got, they are still in there unopened bags,
Thanks Dave

New style wide spaces Volvo badge put on the boot today along with an O.E spoiler as mine was missing as the old boy who had it before me decided it was too outlandish

Just need to pop the BSR badges on now, get a bit of paint on front bumper, I think I want some Tethys to replace my Orestes, 20mm rear spacers, XKR Exhaust to fit, calipers to paint dark blue to match shocks and springs and then I'll be happy.

Well actually I think I want a GROM unit as well

well yesterday, I fitted my ultraracing front chassis brace, all was going very well until one of the track control arms moved there for I could not get the bolt back in, I could not move it I jacked it up and down but this did not help,
so in the end I had to undo every thing so I could slide the rear of the TCA back in,
I have not road tested it but will do very soon and I will report back how the brace helps,
Dave
