My diagnostic had 20 codes for various issues, some to do with the window regulators that needed re-calibration. The MAF ones I am happy with as they are due to the tuning (told so many times by 4 different garages).

Anyway, the air conditioning now works. The ABS Module I had in the shed has resolved the ABS message and the brake fluid was changed etc etc. Treated Gloria to a new pollen filter thing, oil changed with 10W/60, seals changed on the turbo pipe as they were leaking oil and had a software download os some kind that eradicates my ABS message.

And, for the very first time, my air conditioning works! If anyone needs an air con compressor for a 2005 T5 I have one in my boot.

Gloria's rough idling on start up has gone and she goes like stink. Sadly, another £716....

I get codes with my map about flow being too high through the MAF. I get codes about idle being too high - I basically get codes about everything.

But, my ABS codes have gone, my smoke test was good, turbo pipe seals replaced and she goes just fine. 365 BHP+ of sexiness but will probably be in the garage again next week....

The garage left a 2 foot scratch on the roof...I spent 2 hours polishing it out.

I received a cheque from Kwikfit for £59.95 for not aligning my wheels properly - as one of the track rods (or whatever they are called) was buggered. Really nice of them to send me a cheque 4 months later

I left the Toyota in Penzance. To be honest I am hoping it gets stolen as it has an engine management light on. I did some washing (clothes) and discussed, with myself, whether it is worth my time visiting a lady in a nursing home who is clearly mad.

She liked my Gloria though. Sadly, she is not allowed out so we kind of sit in the car and I blast £1.45 per litre fuel out of Gloria's ass. My client likes the sound of Gloria - ok by me. It's better than being stabbed with a fork

And now my air con works - everyone is happy in my World.

I woke up today in sunny Cornwall with the realisation that I am stuck with Gloria forever. Like the wife, I've spent so much money on her nobody is ever going to give me what I have spent on either of them.

Perhaps I could sell them as a job lot?

The Toyota is going - I managed to repair that though it is a CAT S now. Someone offered me £850 for it and I am tempted to take it rather than tax it. I paid £1500 for it, I got over £2000 for it from the other party's insurers and said insurers just offered me £2450 for the whiplash I incurred so...in profit on the Toyota.

Gloria - I wouldn't say she was a 'Keeper' - more an enforced symbiotic, automotive relationship.

Oh, I also thought about trying to find if there are any Cornwall Volvo meetings. Given Cornwall is jam-packed full of Volvos (many outside the same garage I went to the other day) I just wondered if we could all meet together as Cornwall isn't really a place for cars with the turning circle of a horde of elephants.

We could all sit there, like I do, listening to Massive Attack with my new air conditioning (my favourite new toy) and watch other cars go by that people drive - you know, the ones that don't have error codes every 500 metres and that you can do a 3 point turn in

I loaded VIDA onto my laptop and got it all working. I now have no SRS warning. Yippee.
