Try the key the old fashion way??
This is a pic of the parts involved (Not sure if it's the same as it's for a V40 lock):

he's tried the key in the lock a few times. It sticks but does sort of move.
How can I get into the boot if the lock is jammed? |

http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=103900 Easy with a V40, but interesting with an S40 Try a few good shots of WD40 or similar next.

as skyship has said squirt some wd40 in the lock and just keep turning the key back and forth, but not too hard to start with...it may take a while like mine did,but it freed off eventually.been fine for around 2 years now.just wd occasionaly.

It might be in the 'valet' position.
WD-40 in the lock to free it off, first. Turn the key 180 degrees and push the button - it should now open. Gary

OK, found the problem.
No 6 was broken in the schematic diagram you posted. I've set up a temporary boot release using para cord until I can order the parts. |
