Tried to fix my central locking and made it worse...
So today I took off my rear passenger side door panel to see why the thing doesn't respond properly to central locking. After I'd checked it was all in place and lubed the whole system up, I put it all back together, shut the door, and now I can't open it whether it's locked or not! I think I must have engaged the child lock because it won't open from the inside either.
Don't you hate it when you try and fix a problem and it ends up worse than before you touched it??? I have a horrible feeling someone will respond to this saying I'm going to have to cut the door card up to get to the mechanism. Tbh I was looking for an excuse to replace the entire interior though. |

Have you tried unlocking it with the key?
EDIT - ignore that, just seen it's the rear door . Yes, it sounds like you may have to hack at the door card. Alternative is the flat metal hook down the window glass trick - The AA got into mine in 2 minutes using one of those.

Hi Alex, thanks a lot for that. I've never broken into a car before... why not start with my own? Probably safer that way.
To be honest I bought the car with a pretty rank old cloth interior with a really 90's pattern and a few rips so I don't mind cutting it, it'll be fun. |

If you take the opening handle and the finger-pull-recess off, then there's only two screws securing it on the opening edge of the door. Try pulling it off from the b-pillar end and a stud/clip should disconnect, then disengage the pop-up button from the door card and you should be able to pry it back without too much damage.
If you decide to cut it, the best place is probably under the finger pull recess.
