Default What a d**k 😡

So I set about doing my water pump and timing belt today a guess what like a di*k I take the belt off without marking anything up epic fail. Oh well I have the tool coming so I can set the timing properly.

That is TDC on the exhaust cycle. For it to be on compression, the head would have to be fitted.

Did something very similar with my 240 i had many years ago, replaced the belt then it was popping and banging all over the place, timing way off, me being me naturally assumed, due to the positioning of the distributor, that it ran off the crank, turns out that that little pulley that i thought was some kind of idler was in fact for the dizzy, although this mistake was done quite recently by practical classics magazines very own Sam Glover, so i dont feel quite so bad now.
