Default Xc60 17” alloys?

I have a (16) XC60 D4 R-Design and wish to purchase a set of alloys for winter tyres. Ebay is full of 17” alloys quite cheap, all listed as OEM Volvo xc60

However.. when I go to tyre website that match the tyre to the registration number of the vehicle, there is no 17” option, just 18” , 19” and 20” ( mine has the 20” fitted as standard )

Is there a reason my car cannot take the small alloys?.. was the r-design fitted with a bigger brake or something?

Also is there another model of Volvo that uses the exact same wheel (offset) as the xc60 that I can search eBay for?

Many thanks in advance

The 16 plate XC60 also had a 235/65 R 17 option. The 2008-2017 XC60's all took the same size wheels. If it is an OEM from that period then it should fit. Check the model of the wheel against those listed in the pricelist from the same period to see if it is OEM, it is likely to be a Valder or Segin wheel model.

My 67 plate mk1 XC60 D4 2.0 VEA FWD r design lux nav is currently sat on 17 valders and 235/65R17 nokian winters standard came on 18” rims.

The XC70 wheels are often cheaper I suspect mine are originally from an xc70 (same wheeL different tyre size) but bought from and xc60 owner who had them a few years and changed car.

They fit over brakes no issues but are a bit tighter than the 18’s for obvious reasons, 18/17” wheels should be fine for winters

The newer xc60 mk2 might be 18 only and is a different offset too so not interchangeable in fact very little is between the old shape and new so should be some bargains out there as people move from mk1 to mk2 cars

I have 17inch diamond cut Valder alloys. Almost 6 years old, but don't last well as the lacquer is peeling off and they will need refinishing at some stage. Probably best to avoid diamond cut wheels if possible. They are nice looking wheels though.

If you have had them from new speak to dealer as they may be covered under warranty not sure how long the paint warranty is but I think it’s more than 3 years? Or have them refurbed about £50 a wheel...

Not being diamond cut alloys, these will be much more unlikely to suffer the salt corrosion. Mk1 XC60 runs great on these .......https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=301659

Shameless plug :-)
