Default EGR Delete XC60 2.0 D4 VEA Engine

Got usual problem with EGR valve and cooler quoted £1200 by Volvo. Anyone got any info regarding deleting EGR and DPF, been quoted £450 wondering if it is best and cheapest option. Would cleaning EGR perhaps help?

It will fail an MOT if they spot that the DPF had been removed. Have you had a quote for repair from an independent?

i've just had my cooler and valve cleaned up at my local indy, I also got a new key and the tracking sorted and sensors re-set. total bill was £700. sorry i cant break the costs down, the key must have been around £200 though.

Hi,
did the egr modification on my V60 D4 2015 immediately after the software recall last year.
A blanking plate was fitted to the egr, hooked up to a laptop directly to the ECU, deleted the software for the egr. The dpf is unaffected. Have had 10,000 trouble free miles since.
The cost from memory was £180.

That sounds great! who did the EGR work for you?

Thanks in advance.

Good like finding someone who'll do it, as garages that do so also face prosecution now if they get caught.

I was hoping there was maybe a MAP solution out there that pushed the EGR usage right down to virtually nil whilst still maintaining it's presence to a tiny degree so as not to be an MOT fail or an illegal removal of emission control.

The less time the valve spends open the lower the carbon build up in the cooler and the more reliable the engine.

It's a shame Volvo didn't face prosecution for failing to find a permanent solution to rectify their original design flaw.

I'm having this done by a local garage here in France next week. I'm confident they know what they're doing. They say it doesn't impact MOT (Controle Technique in France). Quoted €400. Will report back

Looking into this myself. How has it gone for you?

Does anyone know if the EGR delete means the EMAP pipe gets bypassed too?
