Default 22" Wheel Balancing

I Have just purchased a set of 22" wheels and 4 new Hankook 265 35r22 tyyres

and the tyre place that sold the tyre to me are having a Bi&ch of a time trying to get the wheels balanced, they have a brand new hofman wheel balancer and Still to no avail, wheel wobble starts at 60 and goes right up to 90 . Has anybody had any experiance or problems getting 22" wheels balanced correctly ?

I think above 20’ you are probably ruling out a lot of tyre shops. I should expect everyone will have a difficult time with 22’.

That really is huge!

What about trucks, are they not larger than 22s? many are 22.5's so looking for a company that sorts out trucks too should suffice, no?

The larger Range Rovers are on 22” wheels, they must get there tyres and wheels balanced somewhere. A 22” isn’t unusual or rare.

I think the issue is that truck tyres are high profile. The 22 on a car will literally be like a rubber band hence a lot of trouble to fit.

Pretty certain they dont balance truck wheels either.... ISTR most truck rims are 22.5" diameter - imagine the size of balance machine they would need... all that inertia.

A neighbours son has an old Land Rover on huge tyres. The tyre markings are confusing but the rims seem to be about 18". The actual diameter of the tyres is in excess of 24". Significantly they were only fitted just before lockdown and they were balanced. The weights are still shiny. I'll try and find out where he had them done.

Around about 3.5 inch, 35% of 265. Hope there are some good roads.

It wont be the wheels the tyres are the problem . I would buy some premium tyres which the car came with new .. In the 5 years these wheels have been out , never heard of a balancing issue yet ..

Apparently he bought the rims/tyres pre balanced from a specialist off road internet site.
