Default Volvo s80 2006 rica remap

Hi.
I would like to get my VOLVO tuned with RICA Remap.
Would it be good idea, as car got 150 000 miles on clock.
Its VOLVO S80 2006 2.4 D 163 (new shape) with 150 000 miles done.
Any opinions welcome.

I had Polestar put on my 2009 V70 D5 12 months ago at 150000 miles and it hasn't blown up yet.

The logic from my side is that you are not going to use the extra power and torque all the time and drive permanently like a nutter so things are therefore not constantly under extra strain.

Providing it has been looked after and maintained properly I don't see a problem.

Mine has a full Volvo history and is still main dealer maintained.

watch the intercooler, clutch, Dmf as it will find the weak spots in these items.
they are a very aggresive map and then run out of puff at the end a bit like me

Personally a remap with less low end/max torque with same top end horsepower drives better and spares the clutch flywheel better ,also the torque is too much for full throttle in low gears with front wheel drive

My mate has as Audi A6 2.7 tdi with a very aggresive remap on it. You basically cannot use full throttle between 2000-2800 rpm as the not subtle surge of torque overwhelms the DMF and causes havoc

Default Swedish written MTE remap.

I can offer you MTE's Swedish written, highly acclaimed software for your car for £395 including VAT. You carry out the complete installation of their bespoke map for your car yourselk: no need to travel.

Well worth checking www.t5d5.org and searching for MTE and RICA before you make an uninformed choice....

Don.
