However since doing this I have messaged Tim and talking about all the worked required. he hasnt mentioned anything about the forged route so I will ask him that but if he is doing the work then I guess S60R clutch could be back in the question.
I'd take it to Tim despite the distance, you can't go far wrong with his help. A lot of the ST/RS chaps use him too

Ok thanks for that guys, got quite an update as I have been speaking to Tim and Nosh as Nosh has that monster V50.

'FunkyMelon' Thanks for that forged advise, I think I am going to push the turbo upgrade back and go for the forged route as suggested while the engine is being done. There seems to be a lack of maps for our cars to be able to run the RS turbo and after speaking with Nosh it has sounded a nightmare and a real lack of knowladge in that area so will be hard to trust people.

So on that note, he is running a hybrid turbo at the moment and wont mention anything more down that line as that is looking further away so as it goes, I will be looking at the forged route when the block is done and looking at things like watermeth etc and been advised a few other things .... but after that I will have my eyes set on the stage 3 rs turbo upgrade

You've had most the info and spoke to the right people

Only bit I'll chime in with, is the the Volvo fuel pump is more adequate than the one fitted to the fords. As already said, depending not he bhp you want to achieve would depend on changing or not. But if its around 400bhp from the research I did when I was playing with my T5, the pump will hold out no problem

Thanks for that Kizzer, yeh I heard as well but the stage 3 turbo would be 500+ so will need to look for an upgrade pump but will probably leave that right to last as the car wont be going through any bhp gain till then.

Will be putting a build list later on but at the moment looking at a an inlet manifold.

If anyone knows where to get any good / cheapish RS oil coolers that would be good as well

I looked at meth injection on my old car but to be honest, the benefits outweighed the cost for me - Not a huge amount of power gain, but it would help with keeping the intake temperatures lower and hold onto boost a bit longer.

Ultimately it was just another tank to fill up which is the last thing I wanted

Just get as much of the engine done as possible so you know it's a solid base to work on, then start thinking about power. Hope your insurance company is good with mods though as most won't touch you when you mention 'forged internals'

EDIT: That inlet is the one most people use.

Would be worth joining the ST/RS Parts For Sale group on Facebook and pitch for an oil cooler there, unless of course you're going for new, then I suppose you want to be hitting up the ST/RS specialists but asking questions won't cause any harm...

The Anembo inlet plenum is what I understand to be one of the best but most expensive ones going, Airtek do a reasonably priced one and I am sure there are a handful of others to consider as well.
It's worth mentioning that the Polestar C30 Concept was running the stock one on 400bhp haha!!

Ok so this weekend was a bit of a plunge really. I know nearly everyone knows the sad news of Nosh and what is now happening to his car.

I have messaged him quite a few times a when I first initially got my car and he
got me into tuning my vo, I have only met him once and have a huge respect for him and he had time for anyone. It is such a hole in the volvo community.

Some of his Volvo parts appear so I though I might as well get that to continue the hunt for more power really, so I now have the K16 hybrid stage 3 ready. So where to go next is still up for grabs yet but either way .... its no longer just noise as I now have the turbo waiting to go on. So first things first, will look to get the block mod done by Tim I recon.

Whoaaa, as if! Crikey, etc!!
That's pretty cool Dom, I've seen Nosh's car make 408bhp in the flesh so you'll be knocking on the door of that with supporting mods.
If it helps, when I looked into Nosh's engine bay I recall that he had an Anembo inlet plenum (I know that's gone because I met the guy who bought it!), but he also had custom intercooler/air pipework - I remember the air inlet was positioned where foglight was because he popped the cover off.
Also a ported exhaust manifold, and a very free flowing and LOUD 3" turbo-back exhuast system.
Also had an uprated fuel pump, 650cc injectors, RS oil cooler, and indeed a not just shimmed, but linered block.

If you're going to Tim to get the block reinforced you might as well get him to fit some of the other bits - obvious you'll need the car mapped to use the turbo other wise it might be doing something daft in regards to boost due to the duty rate not being right.
Not so sure on where he got his mapping donw to be honest but with enough digging you'll find out.

Again, CRIKEY!
I'm sure John would be happy to know that someone is going to benefit from his Stage 3 K16...

Yeh still contemplating getting the fuel pump but Sam or Tim I spoke to (Can't remember) said the 550 should be good and not to bother with the 650 injectors unless going over 500, I think there were parts ready to take him shooting past the 500 soonish as I know he was doing some work with a mapper but he didnt want me to both untill he was 100% happy with everything. But for now I think 400 should be in reach soon, I think I will drop puma speed a call and find out about their custom remaps as they have one for the ST so will see if they might be a possibility as I cannot find anything closer really that I could trust.

I was contemplating Noshs 3" exhaust but I think its a bit to loud for my taste. Every race I have been to I have won the award for quitest car and been laughed at really till ive hit the track so im pretty happy keeping the car quiet ish, I think there was a C30 exhaust a while ago I saw that was 3" but had a valvue and only came on song when your foot was completly down and on idle and driving around it was very reserved which I think is more my area really ... still need research though as pretty happy with my Jetex for a while longer. But obviously if anyone is after a 2.5" Jetex system for cheap, it would pursuade me to upgrade to 3" quicker.
