@ classicswede
No I don´t have an early front panel. @ Classic Volvo Shop I know they are different You offered me a later front panel modified for the early grilles and after this I have spoken to our panel beater and he said if I have the grilles he is able to modify the later front panel I have. |

I am now the Lucky owner of 1961 B16 122s in need of restoration. I'll be picking the car up in a few weeks.
It does still wear the original grills but the front valance does need some repair to the edges by the wings and some dents need knocking out. The opening are smaller on the early panel and would be hard to alter. I would consider using the later grills of the same style possibly to give the right look I've got a feeling that the front side lights have been changed to later ones so I'm going to be in the same boat with that problem? |

[QUOTE=elans1;817531I have spoken to our panel beater and he said if I have the grilles he is able
to modify the later front panel I have.[/QUOTE] The later front panel is substantially different from an early one. You can panel beat the apertures so they are smaller, but it still isn't the same. The crease on the front is different. You really need an original to look at to make a convincing look alike. |

You might find this thread useful/interesting. It also mentions the vertical central crease.
http://translate.google.co.uk/transl...n&hl=&ie=UTF-8 This is a cruder method, shows the crease on this one. http://translate.google.co.uk/transl...n&hl=&ie=UTF-8 If these links don't work due to being through Google translate, go here and use Google translate to German if needed. Both of these threads are in this section. http://amazon.forum.bilia.se/phpbb3/...2698aaa1aa7a0b |

These aren't the two best pictures, but they should work:

I may well have a B16 front panel that is restorable, but I'd need to have a fairly serious search.
