That dash is horrible.
I prefer the V50 by miles!

On the subject of the V70 - most of it I like a lot. Looks like Volvo are following the Japanese trend. Not sure why but thought of the Legnum. Also the ends of the bumper do not look practical where they curve. Additionally, too much gap under rear valance (think Mercedes). Time and in the flesh will tell. I can see the Ford design influence, looks a bit like a Mondeo V6 St220 Estate.
I like to see good design development, but this does not hit the spot with me. I will stick to my S80T6. A previous post said it looked like a Jap from behind and I think he was right. The previous V70 had class this looks like any other vehicle without any class. A good outcome for those wishing to sell the previous V70 as the market has just got better looking at the new one. |

I like it
Yes there is some dilution of the boxy/edgy look of the previous V70 but the Volvo cues are still all there. I suspect it will look better in the flesh than it does in the photo's, I know my V50 does. The only bit that could be improved, in my opinion, is a shortening of the rear bumper overhang to give a cleaner look to the rear. Last edited by Marmoset; Feb 15th, 2007 at 11:06. |
