I'm picking my car up this evening, even though the dealer has said Spotify isn't working yet. They've spoken to Volvo UK who have escalated the issue with the factory as they try to work out what's going on. When they have a solution, I need to take it back in.

First World Problems and all that, but I do want it sorted before the long drives of the holidays. Not least because I'm paying a monthly subscription for nothing at the moment...

I can't help thinking why you do not put a USB stick in the plug with your songs on it .. no subscriptions

because that's exactly the point - it's not music I've paid for (directly) - the playlist evolves daily given what I hear on 6 Music

Appreciate not everyone might have a second Spotify user account in their household but worth a try if you do.
This just worked for me too, so thank you Taylora. Upgraded to Premium Family, reinstalled the app and then logged in using my wife's details and there it all is. So why couldn't Volvo or the dealer tell me this?

Only thing I can think is I've downloaded too many tracks on my account and it's confusing the app.

Well this is getting more and more weird! Spent a couple of hours yesterday in the workshop at my local dealer yesterday working through the Spotify issue with one of their technicians. Battery disconnected etc for a hard reset/cache clearing etc made no difference. But more weirdly the tech could connect/pair his spotify account with my car but again I couldn't - checked every setting on each of our accounts and they are identical. Removing access to VolvoSpotifyApp from the apps section of my Spotify account and reinstating that through the pairing also made no difference. Similarly logging in with the PIN code firstly, then deleting and reinstalling the app and logging in with my id and password made no difference either. Looks like Volvo have screwed something up in the update so a detailed report has been submitted by my dealership - fed up am I!

Have tried shutting your phone down by holding volume down and off button at the same time (hard reboot) then restart your phone and see if it connects then. Sohnds like it is a phone issue rather than your car if other phone connects ok.

Not sure what my phone has to do with it - I do not use Spotify on my phone, I manage it all through the iMac and the phone only comes into it when I log into my Spotify account to input the provided PIN code. And of course the phone doesn't come into it all all when you log into Spotify on Sensus using your account id and password. Plus absolutely nothing has changed on my Spotify account from when it was working fine before the app update - personally I think someone in their Software team in Sweden (who say the issue was fixed on 10 July) has failed to run the proper integration test against the hardware/operation system combination sitting in my car - and no doubt in a few others as well

Spotify eventually updated and started working for me when I returned from holiday.

However, there's a new bug in that pressing the next track button on the steering wheel causes a random track to be played.

(And no, I haven't got random play selected.)

I agree with this. One of the questions Volvo UK asked the dealer to check was if we could stream from Spotify on my phone into Spotify on the Sensus. Which we could, but with limited functionality.

It's all working perfectly fine this morning when I log in via my wife's account, but not with mine. Just going to forget about it now until the dealer gets back in touch with a solution.
