Looks like there is more than 1 part number. See the image attached.

That only leaves 1326481 in that case - the others all have either mutilink rear suspension (i don't think any UK 940 got that) or were for Australia or Japan but double-checking, that's only for models without the EGR to 1996.

Looks like it will be one of the others :

Once more Volvo takes something simple, remakes it and complicates the bejesus out of it!

When I bought one from Rufe for my 1994 B200FT in 2014 the part number was 8602955. This also comes up as the OEM part number for my later B230FK on Skandix. Some non-OEM replacements are listed as suitable for 8602955 and 1326481 so they may be very similar.

However, despite costing £400 in 2014 my OEM replacement has recently rusted through to the extent that my trusted local garage have said it’s beyond welding back together. All I can say is the original lasted twenty years and still appeared to be serviceable when it was removed and the replacement has barely lasted seven.

Best just to go with a cheap aftermarket stainless cat (£60?), and stainless steel system. The original volvo ones go for £150 each scrap value the last time I got rid of 2.

Similar experience on my 1989 240, when I installed a genuine Volvo exhaust. Tailpipe rusted off after 4-5 years and very rusty all over. Slight blow on over axle pipe. Ended up fitting a euroflow one and still good 1- 2 years later when sold.

Have a euroflow on my 940 4 years old. Ok at the moment.

James.

That may explain why despite my asking them to the garage didn’t put the old cat in the back for me to recycle. I’m not too annoyed about it though because I’ve still got the old one from 2014 somewhere in the garage that I never got around to doing anything with it.

TBH I’ve made healthy profits on the stock market due to the astronomical price of Palladium. I think I can afford to let the mechanic have that little bit!
