Default Sunroof panel out. Help please.

Hello. I have attached a video of my sunroof panel. As you can see it needs recovering. I have looked into how it's done. Am I right in thinking that the whole sunroof has to come out? I have read several instructions and think it does. Before I tackle it though two questions do I definitely need to remove the sunroof to cover it and secondly is it something someone who is not very good with cars can achieve. It is really annoying me but equally if I can do it myself rather than spend a fortune I will.
Or could I cover it in situ?
Thanks

I was trying to get it sorted but not got around to it yet. My exhaust fell off so that took priority. I think I could get the panel out following the guidance just not sure I could get it back in. Suppose I could try getting it out, remove the panel and put the sunroof back on whilst I get thd panel covered and then get it put back in by someone who knows what they are doing.

That link in post #8 of your original thread explains how to separate the sunroof panel from the sunroof headlining panel so that the headlining panel can be pushed back into the roof space to permit access to remove the sunroof proper. I only needed to move the headlining panel, not remove it so I didn’t investigate further. It may be possible to remove the headlining panel by disconnecting it from the sunroof panel and drawing it forward but further dismantling may be required. I’m sorry but I cannot offer any more advice than that.

Well hot the headlining n the sunroof out and back in again. Now just to adjust the sunroof and get it all working properly. Wasn't retracting or sitting correctly so I think I need to look at. Can the position of the sunroof be adjusted with it in the closed position or dies it need to be at vent position? If anyone has a good way of getting the electric sunroof to move the sunroof correctly that would be great. What I mean by that is that it titles when the press the tilt function and stops and retracts in the right places when the retract button is pressed.
I did try fiddling but I don't really know what I'm doing.
Thanks
Joe

My sunroof is not electric so I cannot comment, other than, I believe that there is a reset procedure for the electric ones and there is someone on this forum who knows how. Sorry but I cannot remember who that is.

Thankyou. I read something about disconnecting the motor and pressing the tilt button all the way to reset it. I did that and the spindle on the motor stopped working completely. Luckily when I put it back in it worked again.
Pretty sure I could adjust the way the sunroof sits myself with a bit of time but to get it all working properly might be something I'd struggle with.
