Should be a standard off the shelf part, i'm not sure what you mean about the cat though, as all cars have had cats for about thirty years now, so there wouldn't be anything for these with no cat, in any case this should be the one, it says its compatible anyway.

Here's another one

I don't know if this is the correct one for your car but may point you in the right direction?
Have a look at the colours of the wires & plug type it may help to identify if it's a titania or zirconia type lambda ?

Thank you everyone for your help.I should explain the car was in with a pukka Volvo mechanic. The computer said front lamda after management light came on. He tried one still same fault ,got a second still same fault .So he swapped the back lamda to the front and a new one to the back the fault then moved to the back. He has now given up and left me to find the suitable part refunding me the cost of the lamda . The trouble is no dealer will accept a lamda back once its out of the wrapping. I have now in desperation gone to a main dealer (Squire Furneaux in leatherhead) for them to have a look . They are either going to try and get an ngk one or try Scandix with all the import duty and collection fee that will entail !! . Sadly when this is over I think it will be time for the parting of our ways. It seems stupid that parts for a 2004 car are now discontinued when for my Austin you can still get parts with a few exceptions . Are well, its the sign of the times I suppose!

I've replaced my two lamdas at the same time by NTK from the catalogue...a real success!
