Must admit to using Michelins for years and always found them to be excellent in both grip and wear. I do also like Goodyear and like Luke I currently have Bridgestones on my 940 that I'm very impressed with.

Funnily enough I also have used Michelin pro Service Course tyres on my road bike and they were by far and away the best tyres I have ever used. The grip on those was mind boggling for 23c tyres.

Michelin energy for me too on my 1996 940. Last well and not had any grip issues. Rears I bought used, 4 years ago for £20 and £25, used as spare and were 8 months old. Fronts bought new recently.

Also liked Goodyear Efficient grip on a Lexus IS 220D except in tread cracking on 3 year old tyres.

Have Continental Eco Contact 6 on My Toyota Auris. Good grip, front perishing but car/tyres 6 years old in April and done 32,000. Fronts have about 2.5mm left.
Will replace with same or efficient grip next month.

James

Default Kleber Quadraxer.

As title. Running my second set of Kleber on my 1992 940. Plenty of grip in all conditions and last well. Fronts in excess of 40,000 miles from new to 2.0 mms on the outer edge, apart from the FNS which only does about 25,000 due to wear on the outer edge due to roundabouts but still 4.0 mms in the centre. Rears in excess of 50,000 miles.

My 940 since its still a work in progress as continental somethings on the front, and good year all seasons on the back, ride well no complaints about the grip from either, will go for a set of either cross climates or the goodyears, they grip well in regular driving and were brilliant in the recent snow and ice up here in Aberdeen, didn't put a foot wrong so saves getting a set of winters on the old girl

Default tyre on V90

The tyres I have fitted to my V90 (197 version) are Falken Euro All Season AS200 in size 205/55 R16 91H and they have been perfect. I got all 5 of them them on line from mytyres.co.uk and they cost me £56.50 in 2016 no charge to send them to me and my local tyre shop fitted them for a few quid. I have done around 18,000 on them with no problems.

I've used Falken Ziex ZE310 Ecorun tyres (205/55 R16 size) on my 1995 940 Estate for the last two years. Excellent grip and wear as far as I'm concerned, and a reasonable price.

As far as a good quality mid-priced tyre goes, I've had excellent results with Avon tyres for many years. A friend of mine who ran my local ATS when I lived in the Bridport area tipped me off about them many years ago when I had a W210 E-Class that used to eat tyres...he said in his opinion Avon offered the best compromise of performance, durability and cost, and I've used them ever since with no complaints whatsoever.

My petrol 940 has them fitted to the front and my diesel will soon receive a set of four, it currently has a set of 185/65/R15s on it which of course are smaller than standard and make it a bit revvy at motorway speeds.

I recently (last three years) ran a set of Avon tyres on my winter wheels on my Vauxhall zafira. Those Avon tyres punched way way above their weight, they really were astonishing value for money.

That’s a very good call yes.

I'm on my second set of CrossClimates. I've had Michelin Pilots and Energys and also Brigestones in the past but the CCs are by far the best.
Grip is much better especially in poor conditions and they last a similar time to the other Michelins.
