Default Model Replacement?

Hi

Im new to the forum and have been running my V50 SE 20D for 4 1/2 years and 80k. I am at the point of choosing if I should replace like for like (or possibly the 1.6 stop start) or hold on to the one ive got until a new model comes out?

I heard a rumour that the v50 was due to be replaced in about 2 years time and wondered if anyone could confirm this?

Cheers James

Hi,

As far as I know, the S40/V50 series will be discontinued, I really don't know when, but doubt there will be S40/V50 2012 models, hoping from the C30 to the S60 with nothing in between.

Bugger, thats going to be a big gap in the market which they have catered well in for the last 20 years or so, the choice if that is the case then would be if I change now or hold off for a run out model when production ceases.

Mine has after initial issues with a replacement gearbox at 3k has been fantastic, only needing service items and a replacement alternator at 75k. The C30 doesnt have a low enough load sill and is a bit too small and the V70 is too big so they will be losing a customer.

Cheers for the heads up.

If it aint broke......

Personly I would hold on to it, at 80k it is barely run in and should give many more miles.

S40 will be dead by the end of the year as Volvo feel they do not need two compact saloons once the S60 is out.

V50 is being replaced by the new V60 which is due late this year / early next
