Default XC60 Delivery Times

First post!

Having read a similar thread on XC90 delivery times I'm now a bit worried... I ordered an XC60 (SE Lux, D5, manual, driver support pack)on August 31 and was originally told it would be delivered at the end of September, early October at the latest - great only 4 or 5 weeks! The end of September arrived and I called the dealer and was told it would now be the end of October... Called again for an update and now told the first week in November.

Anybody know how realistic this is?

Maybe the best thing is not to call the dealer again - everytime I do the delivery date is pushed back.

ordered mine 9th September or should I say thats when the dealer placed factory order my anticipated delivery date is 7th December
So you ordered 9 days earlier than me and getiing 4 weeks earlier - I'd be happy with that knwoing that any orders placed now are going into 2010 ! well into 2010 !!!

from what I can gather,
July was shut down month so backlog of orders to recover
Possible shortage of chassis / bodies
Order surge to get delivery before VAT goes up

this was no consellation to me but at least I dont feel alone anymore

Well I hope my date stays at the beginning of November then!

How many XC60 orders do you think Volvo would get in 9 days? 4 weeks worth seems a lot, presumably the factory changes models every week or so? I'll keep you posted if I get any more bad news from the dealer.

We ordered one to be custom built at the factory at the end of June and it was delivered to our doorstep at the beginning of September. Bit over two months and given the length of time it needs to travel from Sweden to Downunder I though t it was quite reasonable...

I'm very keen to move to a performance euro diesel and the new diesel engines sound really good... so an order for a XC60 D5 with a number of options was placed in June 2009... so hoping November will finally see delivery in Australia.

You must have been really lucky in such case as it takes 30-35 days normally to Oz by ship.

Tangey,
If you went for the Premium option you might want to check with your dealer whether you will get the DAB/audio upgrade. Rob Lang thinks orders after 5th October will be upgraded for free, and if you keep the December delivery date you will also avoid the VAT increase. . .

Hey there,

Thanks for the reply.

I didn't go with the premium, don't have a need for a Sat Nav, and if I do I'll buy one at a couple hundred quid.

I am however hoping the delivery date stays in 2009 for the VAT reasons.

Update.

Alan the dealer rang this afternoon to say my car has arrived and will be ready to pick up by Thursday PM! Yay, very excited now and looking forward to a weekend of driving.
