Default 2001 S40 - Time to Install Towbar (Gen Volvo and Electrics)

Looking for a bit of help on a few questions.

The time has come to put on the Towbar

As far as i see it has 3 mounting points on each side (but none on the top to put through the floor pan, for use with spreader plates, so i am assuming unlike all aftermarket bars they are not needed)

I have a Standard ball instead of a swan neck (thats what it came with) and they are meant to be a bit better (depending on what side of the fence you sit)

The Electrics are a genuine Volvo harness, seems straight forward aside from a few questions.
1. Where is the bulb warning sensor - it says disconnect the warning connector (W), i assume as its recommended faliure to do so will cause a drama. but where is it?

2. Pin 2 (red wire) is for fog lights (or optional live 12v with kit), it says install optional switch and socket to the blue wire - could i just Scotch lock the 2 wires together (i understand the switch is to disable the car lights to prevent glare)

Sorry for all the questions but i just dont want to cause a fire!!
