If it runs OK after a restart then it will be going into limp mode.
That could also be a clogged / faulty EGR valve - not a pleasant job !

Unlikely to be the DPF blocked as that would be a permanent fault.

I've had two ocurrences of this behaviour. Both times the engine has worked fine after a restart. What triggered it both times were slowing down in crossings and then speeding up in 3rd gear from low speed towing a trailer.
Regarding a faulty egr: -Wouldn't that cause the engine to run rough at idle/stall when idling/sporadic rpm?
None of the above mentioned symptoms are present.

OP have you checked that your turbo actuator is working ok
