V60 Hybrid - Slow Charging
I've had my V60 D5 twin engine for nearly 2 years now. I've always charged it on my Chargemaster wall charger, and typically it has taken 3.5 to 4 hours to charge from empty.
For the last month or so this has slowed dramatically - using the same charger now takes around 10 hours. I've analysed the data from the Chargevision web portal, and it's average takeup is only about 1.25kW. I also tried my 3-pin charger and found similar performance - when I set it to 10A (which should be about 2.4kW) it took 2.5 hours to get to "9 miles" worth of charge, which is about 30% of (say) a 10Kw full charge - again, looks like it is drawing not much more than 1Kw. I've booked it in with my dealer for investigation. Just wondering if anyone else has seen anything similar. Curious to know whether it's a software issue, the charge controller, or a faulty battery. Glad it's still under warranty! |

Mine is a similar age to yours but fortunately I haven’t experienced similar problems. For the most part I tend to charge via a granny cable with occasional charges on on a public Chargepoint. The charge time tends to be fairly consistent although on occasions the app tends to indicate a longer delay getting from 15 miles to 24 miles capacity using the 3 pin. All in all though the time to get from empty to full is much the same depending on charge setting.

Well, it's at the dealers today being investigated.
Thanks to the wonders of VOC I can see that it was plugged into their charging point around 8am today, and is still charging.... so it's definitely not my charging point that is at fault (although I knew that anyway). Hope it's not a dodgy battery as I assume that would take quite some time to order, let alone fit! |

Cheers .. John.

It has been in for a week. Just heard that they are going to replace the battery charger unit. Should find out later this week if that fixes it. If not, it would presumably require a new battery.

My slow charging issue has now been resolved. It did end up being the battery charging unit within the car (not sure of its proper technical name).
Glad it was under warranty, the part was over £900 +Vat, if I'd paid for the full job myself it would have been around £1600! |
