C70 convertible - rear view mirror loose

Hello guys.. new here, with a 2003 C70 convertible. My rear view mirror is a little bit loose, and droops after going over a few bumps... Can anyone pls advise how to tighten this? I've had a good look at it and think maybe to somehow prise open/remove the little central vertical cover on the rear of the mirror to possibly reveal a nut, but not 100% sure...?

I'm not sure I can answer your question as I have not had any issues with mine drooping - it is always firm

I suspect not many others have either as 48 views hasn't produced an answer.

I have had a close look at mine and it appears to be all cast in one - as I would expect. Do bear in mind there are electric cables within the mirror arm and therefore the arm must be hollow. Given the small external size of the arm it wouldn't leave much room to hide a screw thread and nut.

Given your mirror is not fit for purpose, there isn't much to lose by removing it and investigating - but be prepared for it to be broken beyond repair.

I'm not sure about the spec in your home market, but UK GT spec had auto dimming mirrors - the car needs to be programmed for the mirror to work, so if looking for a replacement it needs to be either manual or auto dimming depending on what you have at the moment. If yours is auto, a replacement is plug and play. hth.

Many thanks for your reply. The mirror is fairly useable as it is, just slightly annoying as it seems to need about a quarter turn to re-tighten (what must surely be) a cluster nut of some sort behind that little vertical panel? Only it doesn't seem like the little vertical panel wants to come off..... It can't be this difficult surely.

As for replacement, no I wouldn't waste money on any auto dimming mirror, whats the point?? I've made it through 35 years of driving without one thus far!
