Default how interchangable are doors

Hi,

How interchangeable are doors (the lower part)?

Are they all the same eg P1800 1800s & 1800ES?

Are there differences between years ? if so what years

Thanks

Simon

I think you're fine for the earlier cars though there are some minor differences such as trim mounting holes, etc.
The ES doors have different quarterlights and therefore different mountings. As well as other differences, the window winding mechanism is different too, so same story there I think. Basically there are quite a few differences in the way the inner skin has been pressed. With the way they are constructed I would not attempt to try to adapt them. IMO it's far less hassle repairing your old ones even if the bottoms of the frames are shot.

Hope this helps.

Gordon

Agreed Gordon, plus you cannot put a door made for a car before chassis 10000 on a car made after 10000. The frames differ and so the door will not shut - but you can do it the other way round, ie late door on an early car
