Default Anti-skid service required

Hi Guys, I just went to my local garage for a mini valet on my 2011 D3,
Had the outside cleaned then handed the key over for a guy to reverse it into a parking bay while they cleaned the inside, 30 mins later it was ready and I went over then engine was running, but there was an error message on the screen " anti skid service required ", I turned it off and restarted it but the message is still there, it also says on messages that the anti skid has been turned off.
Did a quick google and found a youtube vid of a guy taking his steering wheel apart, and another post on volvo forum from 2011 says it's a fault and loads of people had a main dealer fix it for free, so I ain't got a clue what's the next step, the car is running fine apart from the message.
Could it be a bit of cleaning fluid causing a false reading on something or is something actually buggered and gona cost me a fortune? I have only had it 6 months and only got a 3 month warrantee , still got another 3.5 years to pay on it.
any advice please ?

Well left it for 5 hours just in case something was damp, put the ignition on and still got the message, rocked my steering from full left to full right, then turned the ignition off, then back on and started the engine, the message went off and it drive fine, so hopefully it was a bit of cleaning spray got somewhere it shouldn't, fingers crossed anyway.

It’s probably not any help, but I had an engine cutting out issue this afternoon. I got the anti skid system service required message. But I now cannot turn on the cruise control.
So it mat be a steering wheel connection issue. Just thought, does the ecu read the steering wheel angle from the steering wheel. So would the anti skid system think there is a fault because the steering wheel connection is intermittent.

Its worth checking the pedal sensors aswell. If clutch sensor is behaving weirdly (damaged, dirty whatnot), cruise control wont activate. Maybe its somehow connected to your case?

Thanks for the reply
Coming home today, fine for 14miles, then cutting out constantly, usual list of messages, anti skid, boot lid open, immobiliser try again etc.
Then after about twenty restarts it would not start art all. Stuck at the side of the road.
Waited, eventually started and drove the three miles to the house without issue.. cruise light and system had worked, now not working again.
Checked engine... fuel line had a lot of air, so shorted out fuel filter to check the cracked filter housing affair. Wouldn’t start at all...... still can’t start it at all.
Battery is on charge.
Unfortunately I haven’t had time to get a manual, so don’t even know where some of the system components are.
I have an ongoing issue with the boot wiring harness, I don’t know enough about the canbus system to know if that can affect the data transmission around the car.

Hmm, sounds a bit similar to CEM issues but not quite 100%. Worth checking though, maybe they were cleaning "too thorough" and either sprayed too much onto CEM direction or maybe loosened the connectors only? CEM is under the glove compartment, its basically car's brain with lot of relays, fuses etc. It often gets damaged or mis-communicated and creates literally every possible permutations of errors.

Angry Anti skid service required S40, 2007

I took it for a scan and got these codes
0134 brake pressure sensor, faulty offset value
0135 brake pressure sensor faulty signal

The car drives well except for the annoying error msg
Anyone know what that could be?

I had the anti skid error after changing the lower ball joint. Initially had over tightened the retaining screw (75N instead of 35N - misread the figure) and broke it. Next time probably didn't tighten it enough, which meant the ABS is misreading the wheel speed.

This would lead to the esp being turned of, and the abs not functioning. Also would stop you from being able to use the cruise control.

Ultimately how a car wash would result in a faulty abs sensor, other than water getting into the sensor, I am not sure - but that's what I would check for the original issue.

Probably the ABS pump has a fault, a known issue. I had it happen on my V50, the BCM aka ABS pump had to be replaced
