The car is in generally good condition, however there are some marks to the front bumper, near side wing mirror, and some minor stone chips (not too many considering mileage). Similarly there are some marks to roof lining and rear offside door card, but nothing that detracts significantly from the overall condition of the car. See photos, more available on request.

As with many Volvos of this age the battery in the alarm siren has gone flat, the alarm now only sounds on the horn and it shows an "Alarm Service Required" error message. A replacement siren is around £70 and is a relatively easy DIY fix.

Only for sale as I no longer need a large car.
Offers in the region of £2600
Car is in Maidstone, Kent.

Just spotted the cambelt is due so it's booked in for a cambelt and water pump on Monday.

Why the water pump? Do you have a problem with it? Have a search for Clan's comments on these, they seem to be one bit that Volvo got particularly right.

I thought it was good practise on these modern diesels to do the water pump at the same time as the cam belt? It certainly was recommended on the Seat (VAG) and Alfa (GM) diesels I had before this. I have also been told this afternoon that the interval is 8yrs/96k mls rather than 6yrs as I thought (it was last done Jan 06) so I am slightly in two minds whether it is worth getting it done. If I was hanging onto the car armed with that knowledge I wouldn't bother, but just wondering if it helps sell the car it might be worth it.

Just found some of Clan's thought on these, don't think I'll be doing the water pump!

Cheers

To be honest, if you are selling it then you're not likely to get your money back on the cambelt job. Since you've not quite reached the service interval for the second change I'd keep it as advertised and see what happens.

I'll sleep on it and make a decision tomorrow.
