Not true - I had my car for a test last tuesday, old test expires end of this month, and the socket was tested as part of the MOT

You should of questioned it then,My car was only just MOT last week, Had the towbar fitted but not wired,I asked the tester and he confirmed that it did not have to be untill April?? Maybe each station have there own rules as to when they apply the new ones.

I think it should now be tested, but shouldn't be a FAIL point until April - you ought to receive an advisory if necessary.

Its only the 13pin sockets being tested, correct?

My 7-pin socket wasn't tested - but it only has to be "secure" .. which it is.

Ed: Inspection Manual for Classes 3, 4, 5 and 7 Vehicles, "1.9 Electrical Wiring and Battery" contains the relevant info.
