I used some 40 grade sand paper, then some wet and dry, then a clean over with brake pad cleaner!

All a bit of a flaff ... but I guess it protects the ball while fitting etc.

Roll on a week on Friday and no snow!!!!!!!!!!

Ha Ha good luck with that. Forecast is for arctic conditions from next week and snow starting from Wednesday this week.

Then took black paint off towball .... always a faff .... and set up the Milenco Aero mirrors.

So all ready for the first tow .... need to sort out Swifty next weekend, though ALde is already on to air it off.
Sorry - not sure if you are a veteran caravan user so apologies if you are as you will already have resolved this - I trust you have propane gas cylinder(s) on the van?

Very much a veteran caravanner ... been caravanning since I was 10 days old so more than 44 years now.

Calor Lite Propane in use ... not that we use much gas these days.

Great - wasn't sure so just thought I would mention in case you were a new caravanner and had bought the van in summer with butane. Your 44 years’ experience beat me by 10 :-) Have a great time - always wanted to go in winter as with blown central heating etc it sounds lovely so put propane (Just for the cooker as everything else electric) when I bought my latest van some 6 years ago but wife doesn't want to have to brave the cold going from the van to the shower blocks - she doesn't like to use the in-built shower :-( Anyway, the xc60 is an excellent tow beast (Had mine for 2 years now) - enjoy
