Default d5 range sound right to you?

Hi everyone still getting used to how long diesels last normally used 300+ jap monsters that eat petrol question is needle was nearly on the red the other day like 2 mm away from it and range sed 120 miles sound about right to you people when would the light come on in the red section or at the end 07 s60 d5 185bhp model thanks in advanced

The manuals says 8L is available once red light has illuminated. Which would be 70miles @ 40MPG. So that is quite possible if the needle has not yet hit the red light

When the light comes on you probably have 50 miles left. It is best to always run with at least 1/4 to 1/2 at tank if you can. The pump in the tank has to transfer fuel from one side to the other and send it through the filter to the engine. I dont know if low fuel puts a strain on the pump or it picks up bits but the result can be the pump stops and you have fuel on the gauge but it wont go.
This usually happens at the worst moments. It happened on mine at 70mph on the outside lane of the A1 overtaking a truck.
