V70 buying advice winter pack?
Seen an ad for a diesel auto V70 SE 52 plate just over 110k with leather etc did they all have heated seats or was that just with the winter pack ie with the headlamp wash wipe?
Where are the buttons for the heated seats are they at the bottom of the controls behind the shift stick as you look from the drivers seat? Ta, Neil |

Not sure....I thought the Winter pack was an option.?...heated seats/headlamp wash/wipe/heated doors mirrors etc...and yes..my heated seat switches are down near the gear selector..either side of the coin tray....and I LOVE them!!
...but mine's a P1 so P2 might be different.? Neil

The Winter Pack was an option on the P2, it gave you Heated Seats, Headlight Washer Jets, Heated Mirrors and I thought Luxuary Mats.
The Heated Seat switch is down by the gear leaver near the heater controls.

Very true...I can do without the nuisance of the headlight wash/wipe.(ie when they go wrong)..and the mats are available as you say...but I confess I WOULD miss my heated seats in Winter..!!

By their nature, diesel engines are more efficient, which means less 'wasted' energy is lost as heat. All well and good, but the downside is that car heaters rely on that 'wasted' energy to heat the cabins. Some people report very little difference in cabin climate between petrol/diesel but my own experience over 4 years with an S60 2.4D, as well as various diesel loaners that I've had, was a distinct lack of cabin-warmth for the first 20 minutes or so... the heated seats were a godsend. |

Heated seats
I'm with you Chaddie, we've had Volvos for the past 15 years, all with heated seats & they certainly do make life rather nice on a cold & frosty morning. The car always takes 10 mins to fully warm up so the seats are a brilliant start to the day. I think my wife would leave me if we got a car without them, now.

I have the headlamp Wash/Wipe which I could not care less (I just removed the wipers because they make harder to clean the snow off the car), I don't have the heated mirrors which I dearly miss because they cover in droplets during rain and I can barely see anything, and I have the heated seats. I could do without heated seats even with winters with -20C in the morning. Not a big deal. However, it's the kind of comfort feature that soon we enjoy so much, I found myself using them in the summer days... it's like receiving a massage So it's a great feature - the heated seats - but not something we couldn't leave without. I also drive a more recent car that has heated steering wheel, and cooled/vented seats. Again, really pleasant to feel the steering wheel warming up, but not something unbearable if it's missing.
