Starting November 23 the Courtesy Upgrade of Sensus is available for XC90 customers in Europe, North America and China. For other markets the upgrade will be available either on Nov 30 or Dec 7. Contact your dealer for information for the availability on your market. If you have taken delivery of your car before this date the car is eligible for the upgrade.

We will upgrade the software in your Volvo's Sensus Connect system to the latest version during a visit to an authorised Volvo dealer.

The upgrade provides you with access to new functions and improvements, amongst other things:
• Apple CarPlay functionality
• Real-time traffic (RTTI) in 42 countries
• New apps - including Pandora, Yelp, and Find Parking (availability dependent on market)
• New markets with support for voice control
• New and improved map format that gives the option for more in-depth detail (map installation part of upgrade)
• New filter function for free-text search for address input
• Improved system performance and stability
• Improved performance for voice control
• Improved navigation functions
• Improved performance for DAB radio
• Modifications for a problem that may give wrong positioning in the navigation system
• Rectifies a problem where SiriusXM radio stations disappear/are greyed out
• Modifications for a problem that may lead to a pop-up for seat adjustment being shown intermittently
• Improved reception for keyless locking/unlocking
• Improved Bluetooth performance and compatibility for certain devices
• Modifications for a problem where WiFi-hotspot sometimes does not start

Improvements to the Volvo On Call app
At the same time, new and improved functionality is being introduced for the Volvo On Call app. Make sure you update the app to the latest version in order to have access to the following improvements:
•Engine remote start (ERS) with Apple Watch 2.0
•Remote unlocking with Apple Watch 2.0
•Universal Windows 10 app which includes Volvo On Call desktop
•Support for Android M (6.0)
•TouchID support for iPhone

I hope Volvo will bring in full Android compatibility soon since I have no Apple products and I don't intend to buy any.

Picked up my new XC90 on Friday and they confirmed that it had the updates applied. Can't report anything here because I've got nothing to compare against and although the car has got Apple Car Play I don't have any Apple products!

I'm with you on the Android compatibility issue.

Although I'm going to end up getting a Brodit clip for the new XC90 to hold my Android phone so that I can at least use Google Maps. It's far superior to the Volvo satnav because it gives alerts when there's a traffic jam (the M62 is VERY unreliable!!!)

And if there's no Android compatibility with the sensus screen I will need the holder for the phone so that I can select music properly.

Mine was supposedly updated to the latest firmware on Friday but i can't see any apple play specific applications. The only new applications are the "Find Parking" and the Internet Radio app.

I haven't actually paired a apple device .. don't know if that could be a reason nothing is being shown.

I am looking forward for the android auto part

Been told I have to leave my iPhone with the dealer on Thursday, when they do the upgrade, so I guess you need to have it set up to at least one device to activate?

I loaded our demo today and had a play once I had done it,

Half the screen turns into an iphone look,

You don't realy need to leave your phone but you do need to fetch your USB lead with you when you come to collect,

Once plugged into car you just get 2 menus to click "yeah" in and then its all go,
