Default Headlight wont move after bulb change

All,

I have had a search but cant find this issue, hopefully someone can advise?

2010 V70 SE - don't think i have Xenon lamps.

I changed the n/s dipped bulb after a failure last week. No problems, 10 minute job. Since then, the n/s light does not respond to the headlight adjustment wheel on the dash, this is only up and down, i don't think this car has left/right "follow me home" lights. The o/s light responds fine. I'm guessing this isn't normal? I would have expected both side to move with the wheel. But to be honest, I got the car in May and it's only now that the mornings are darker, that i have been using the lights.

Could anyone confirm that both lights should move? And if that is so, where should i be looking to get he n/s one to move correctly,

thanks in advance for your help,

paul

Have you checked that you haven't accidently disconneted the adjuster when changing the bulb? As I've got ABL's I don't know the set up for halogens but on my old V40, the adjusters were ball and scoket type joinigns that you had to disconnect and reconnet when removing the headlight unit.

Well done, you get a lot of satisfaction when you sort a problem out!!

For our English cousins who don't understand the Doric or Scots language "footer" means to "play about with" or "sort out".

Hi,

I was wondering how removing the headlamp unit and kicking it about on a random field would make things work..

That is how I try to fix most things before I go and buy a new one

I have a 1972 Mini that i am trying to restore. Virtually everything can be fixed by "hit it with a hammer". If that doesn't fix it then "hit it with a bigger hammer" will normally sort it out.

I find that i am quite good at applying this technique to most car repairs
