Default Pointers ?

Evening all,
1st serious post, i've been offered an ex police V70 D5 se 2012 with 120000 mile on the clock, but a plethora of service information from the police garage. But i have a couple of questions,
1, Should i be concerned by the high mileage ?
2, The cam belt was changed at 70580 miles "when the head gasket was changed" according to the paper work, is the cam belt due for changing again ? is the head gasket a weak point ?
3, Aux belt and tensioner was changed at 98000 is this ok ?
Any other info would be appreciated.

I would say 120k is just run in, the cam belt and aux belt should be changed at 98k, so the cam belt should be ok for another 50k.
My car has similar mileage and the only expensive problem I have had in the past 3 years was the rear suspension bushes costing around £250 to replace.

I just remembered there was an issue with some Volvo police cars where a plastic part failed causing water loss, this is possibly what caused the headgasket failure.
Someone posted police maintenance bulletins a while ago, if you use the search you should find it.

Yeah, hand gaskets on T6 mainly, some D5s. Nothing untoward, just weren't upto the job of a police car in terms of heavy use. T6 were main culprits.

Check for accident damage mainly. Car should have been serviced correctly if not more with it being ex-police.

Check how much the road tax costs as well.

It is not always what you expect and is higher because it is ex Police.

From what I have read in the past it does not seem that you can do anything about it.
