fitting rea relectric windows to a 440
does anyone know how easy and how to fit rear electric windows to a 440 si. i remember an old mondeo i had all i had to do was put the motors in and get a 4 way swicth and away i go as the wiring was already there on it, am i likely to be as lucky with volvo? any help or suggestion would be greatly apprecitated thanks

I dont think the 440/460 ever had rear electric windows?
If it didnt then it would become more tricky to retrofit them as there would be no kit, unlike with the mondeo. |

They did i had a 440 CD with rear electric widows. If all the wireing is there then you just need the motor assembly and switches. If there is no wiring present the find a scrap one and remove the section of loom that you need. If my memory serves it should all connect via multiplugs under the carpet.

Ah, I see-I did wonder if some of the higher spec 460's had them.
In my experience with the 480 all the wiring for extra's (extra guages, interior lights etc) is there as standard so that may be the case with 440 too? |

As far as i know they were fittted with a standard loom and the bits and peices were fitted according to what was ticked on the options list. For example i also owned a 1.6li 440 base spec, but the wiring for the front fog lights was already there. All i had to do was buy some lights, fit them and activate the light switch by cutting off a small locking tab and hey presto working front fogs for about a tenner.
