  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Default 121 Automatic

Its me again iīm sorry to say, can anyone tell me what they think the following might be. My automatic is good all works gears change with no problem but however gently i pull away i gett a judder from the rear, is it the prop shaft?

any ideas

It's over 20 years since I had a 122S, admittedly a 4 speed manual, but I recall having the same problem and an identical problem on a 260 estate a few years later. In each case the rear universal joint on the prop shaft had siezed up. Replacing them needed amongst other things, a large vice, some suitable drifts and hammers and a comprehensive working knowledge of profane anglo-saxon!
