Default sudden but temporary power loss

Dear all,

I have the following issue with my V40 (1.8 16v 2001 166000km) :
quick power decrease. Increase back after half a second to souple of seconds. When too long, I recover the power when accelerating at max(very briefly, gear disengaged). It happens in both LGP & Fuel.
This sudden loss (either very short or longer leading to accelerating @ max) happens apparently randomly.

Any idea ? Electric ignition system maybe ?

Thanks in advance

JB

Do you mean you can switch between the two? Maybe I dont understand LPG properly then because I thought it was injected into the inlet manifold as a supplement to the fuel.

Sorry for posting a null response!
