He couldn't offer an explanation.
Can anyone explain this?

I'm sure he told me Bluetooth was now standard - replacing the GSM phone setup.
Yes this is correct I think, I've seen it in the brochure, in the Optional Equipment - Interior section there's the '6 x CD Player' option with a (v) reference which says:

'If 6 x CD Player is ordered, standard USB port is removed from the audio system'

- Where physically is the connection and is it on a flylead?
The cable is in the glovebox. It's a flylead with a normal PC sized female USB connection on the end.

Next / Previous, fast forward etc. Volume Up / DOwn ( take vol to zero and Ipod will pause).

The radio will show Ipod name / playlists , by artist / albumn etc. USB Disk is a little less advanced I believe. I think the difference is that the Ipod controls the playback whereas the car radio does this for the USB disk.

We're getting our XC60s and ore XC90s confused here guys!
I know nothing about the XC90, but I can confirm - your comment having made my heart skip a beat! - that in the XC60 brochure, both 2010 and 2011 versions, it says:
viii) If a 6 x CD Player is ordered, the standard USB port is unaffected.

Sorry if I caused a heart-flutter, i've found this thread somewhat confusing myself with all the XC60 & XC90 talk (although I thought this thread lived under the XC90 General forum).

Either way it's nice to see Volvo are consistent with this USB restriction (NOT), so 6 disk CD changer + USB is fine with an XC60 and not with an XC90.

Cheers Ian

Cheers! Indeed, Volvo have certainly lost track of their arse from their elbow recently with all the new prices coming out (not!), so when you throw 60v90 into the mix as well, is it any wonder we poor customers get confused?!

I have just heard that the IR Reflective Windscreen is no longer listed as an option on the 2011MY XC90.

Anyone else heard this?
