I flashed my lights at an oncoming 740 (or 760 perhaps) on the A390 at St. Blazey but no response from the driver. Surprising really as the car looked well cared for, not just a cheap old banger living out its final years.

I wouldn't be surprised, when I was driving my 84 360 at the beginning of the year I waved and or flashed at a few 2/7/9 series owners and got no response. I didn't bother in the end and waited for them to do something but it never happened.

It's strange, you'd think anyone with a modern classic like that would want to share the enthusiasm, but maybe they've just had the car for years and don't realise it's becoming collectable.

This is the answer. I see lots of older people driving old Volvos who're just driving the same car they've always had. I don't think I've ever had a wave back either.

Uh, care to explain? How many 200/700/900 owners do you see wave back?
